The public art menorah - Dubai

This awe-inspiring, towering Public Art Menorah, standing at a majestic 32 feet (the maximum height permitted by tradition) and boasting an impressive width of 28 feet, is a marvel of contemporary art and engineering. Constructed from robust stainless steel and topped with a refined acrylic finish, the Menorah blends resilience with elegance, tradition with modernity.
Strategically placed on the east-west continuum, the Public Art Menorah is a powerful emblem of Dubai's unique position as a global crossroads where Eastern and Western cultures meet, interact, and flourish. This intentional design element reflects the rich cultural diversity and the dynamic cosmopolitan spirit of the city.

One of the distinguishing features of this Public Art Menorah is the incorporation of the profound phrase, "A little light dispels a lot of darkness". This phrase, etched into the menorah's arms in ten different languages, serves as a testament to the unity in diversity that Dubai exemplifies. The languages, representing a continuum from east to west.

The Dubai Public Art Menorah will incorporate state-of-the-art LED lights at the apex of each arm, as well as within the engraved messages on each arm, creating an illuminating display of multicultural unity. Beyond its visual spectacle, the menorah is designed for function as well as form.

It can be lit using top-tier oil and wick torches, making it ideal for ceremonial lighting events. This functionality allows dignitaries and important figures to actively participate in the ritual, adding an authentic touch to this monumental installation.
The integration of modern lighting with traditional elements makes this menorah not only a visual spectacle but also a bridge between the past, the present, and the future.
