Am Yisrael Chai Sculpture
In the face of extreme darkness…
“Am Yisrael Chai” - “The Nation of Israel Lives!”
Chief Rabbi of England Rabbi Dr. Jonathan Sacks famously taught that every nation is chosen by the Creator for a destiny, to contribute some beauty to the whole of Its creation and the whole of the family of nations.
History has revealed many blessings for which the Jewish people was chosen to bring the world, foremost among them, tenacity -- vitality and vibrance, life and joy, even in greatest hardship. To be a light unto the nations, proving that no goodness can ever be extinguished, and every darkness can and shall be.
Historically our life has been larger than life. Which all explains the unofficial slogan of our nation:
"Am Yisroel Chai -The Jewish People Lives!"
In the face of unprecedented hate on October 7th we must share our light!
Much more than a testament to survival, it is a statement of purpose. A mission statement. The responsibility to prove to mankind that through unyielding faith and brotherhood we can all become conduits for the Divine and the miraculous in spite of the global rise in antisemitism . For when the Jewish people thrive, the entire world has proof positive that it is never too dark and it is never too late. That there is always hope -- and abundant hope.
Into this vital message enters the Shield of David, a modern day symbol of Jewish hope, perseverance and values.
AM-STAR-CHAI is not just a piece of art, it is a call to action. For our people to stand tall and confident and proclaim our nobility of character and creativity of spirit.
Calling all Jewish people to step out of the shadows and into the light – their God-given light.
