Mount Menorah

“Mount Menorah” is  a chanukiah built out of the Judean Hills, with eight powerful searchlights dotted across its skyline and pointed upwards, uniting heaven and earth in eight powerful streams of illumination, signifying the light that can be readily seen by all those who simply lift up their eyes in search of it, as well as the light which can sometimes only be discerned against a backdrop of darkness.

In brainstorming a previous design for the Seaport in NY, an even grander design for light was birthed, in the spirit of Chanukah which invites and empowers us to increase the light we give to the world day by day.

This greater display of light envisions putting a spotlight on the enlightenment which the land of Israel and its people have shined to the world throughout history — not just artistically, but literally.

When the vision for this menorah first struck him, Moully thought the place for such a menorah could be somewhere in the Diaspora, in a location where “spiritual darkness” is thickest and most begging for illumination. But after further reflection, he realized that for the light to have its greatest healing power, it must be connected to and shine from its power source, from the heart and capital of the Jewish people, Jerusalem — the very place where the light of our people has been engineered and magnified throughout our history.

We are currently looking for partners to bring this concept to - light.
